Where can I find ghosts?
Ghosts are not always where you think. Many people would look in the most likely places, such as an old cemetery or old building. Yes, these places can be considered when looking for the paranormal, however, ghosts have no boundaries. The answer is anywhere! Look for places that have a history of violent death or suicide. Do a little research before you look for a spot, and stay away from places that you are unsure of. Not all haunted places are safe.
What should I bring on a ghost hunt?
It is very important to have the right equipment when on an investigation. Never go alone! Always bring at least one partner when investigating. Being with a partner is not only safe, but a partner can verify the validity of an investigation. It helps to have both an analog/digital camera and a video camera both ready to go when needed. Not all places are safe from the living, as well as the dead, so always travel in groups.
How do you get rid of a ghost?
A friend once told me that if ghosts do actually exist, they must have a powerful reason for remaining here. Yes, this is a true statement. If indeed there is a spirit haunting you, chances are very good there is a particular reason it is there. Finding the reason is not always easy, and satisfying it is even harder. Some ghosts just refuse to go away, and some just need a little push, but always be respectful. If a spirit has the power to remain in our world after death, it is wise to respect its wishes.
How can I be sure that a location is haunted?
There are many different signs to look for in a real haunting. You may notice cold spots in certain areas, or something may be moved to a different location from where you last left it. You might see doors open and close without anyone near them. You may hear voices or noises in a particular room or location. You may see orbs (little balls of light) floating around or passing through a room. You may feel something touch you, or you may even see an aberration appear before you. These are strong indications there is a haunting.
How do I go about an investigation?
Always be alert when investigating areas that may be considered very active, especially if you have never investigated in that location before. Take caution and prepare for anything, but leave the scary stuff out or you will run out of most places you try to investigate. This is not a job for the faint of heart. If you feel you cannot make it through an outing, stay at home. People have a tendency to create things in their own minds when they feel nervous or on edge. Keep people away that are going to make things difficult to conduct a quality investigation.

How can I join HauntedAPIS?
We are always looking for your input and ideas, so feel free to send us your stories an photos. (Don't worry, we will give you credit for them.) We may use them on our website. However, we are currently not looking for field investigators at this time. We appreciate your interest in us, and welcome you to join our mailing list. Our mailing list will give you upcoming events and other interesting thing that are going on this year.
Why, when, and where do you do investigation?
There are many people that ask us for our help determining if they are being haunted. We can go about an investigation in a number of ways if the situation is consistent with a haunting. Investigations usually take only one day, but they can go on for longer in certain situations. Haunting can happen anywhere from a department store to an open field and anywhere in-between. Our team will setup on site for an entire day and evening. We will do a professional investigation in order to determine if there is a haunting. You will see the results usually within a couple days. We will meet with you to discuss our findings. True haunting are very rare. Only a few of our investigations result in a true haunting.
Do you offer ghosts tours?
We will be offering a ghost tour sometime in the fall of 2005 or 2006. This will be a limited tour and advance sign-up will be needed. We have not yet given tours to this point, but the demand has been so great that we have started to make arrangements for a "Haunted Locations" tour.
